Market rules and resolution

This market will resolve to “Yes” if a snap election is called in Alberta between market creation and March 31, 2027, 11:59 PM ET. Otherwise, this market will resolve to “No.” The calling of a snap election requires the formal dissolution of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta, or another formal scheduling, according to the rules of the jurisdiction, of an election for all members of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta before the next scheduled general election. A dissolution of the Legislative Assembly by the Lieutenant Governor of Alberta, and any other means provided for by the laws of Alberta, all qualify. An announcement of an intention to call an election, a failed vote of no confidence, or the failure of coalition negotiations will not by itself qualify toward a “Yes” resolution. The election need not take place by the deadline. Once a qualifying election is formally ordered or scheduled, its subsequent cancellation or postponement will not affect resolution. The resolution source for this market will be official information from the Government of Alberta and the Legislative Assembly of Alberta; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.

How to read this market

Each share pays $1 if its outcome happens. Buying Yes at 26% risks 26¢ to win 75¢. Prices move with news and order flow, and thin markets can swing on small trades, so check volume and spread before treating a number as the crowd's view.
