Futures are where sportsbooks hold their largest margins, with implied probabilities for a 30-team championship market often summing to 130 percent or more. Prediction markets list the same outcomes at prices that sum near 100 percent, which is why the gap between the two is largest in futures.

Capital is tied up until resolution, so the time value of money matters more here than on game bets. Markets that let you sell early, as exchanges do, remove that cost.
