Volume
The total dollar value of contracts traded in a market over a period, usually reported as 24-hour and lifetime figures.
Volume shows how much attention and money a question attracts. High volume with a stable price suggests a settled consensus; high volume with a fast-moving price suggests new information arriving. Low volume means the price could be set by a handful of traders.
Venues count volume differently. Polymarket reports notional value traded; Kalshi reports contracts and dollars. Neither figure tells you about the order book right now, which is liquidity.
BetG8 hub pages rank markets by 24-hour volume because it is the best single signal of where the action is today.
