Bid-ask spread
The gap between the highest price a buyer will pay and the lowest price a seller will accept for a contract.
If the best bid for Yes is 61 cents and the best ask is 64 cents, the spread is 3 cents. Buying at the ask and immediately selling at the bid loses that 3 cents, so the spread is the real transaction cost in a market without vig.
Spreads are tight in heavily traded markets such as presidential winners or Fed decisions, often 1 cent, and wide in obscure ones, where 5 to 10 cents is common. The mid price (halfway between bid and ask) is the best single estimate of the probability.
BetG8 market pages show the spread next to each outcome so you can judge how much weight the price deserves.
