The first CFTC-regulated exchange for event contracts, listing markets on economics, politics, sports and culture for US users.
Founded in 2018 and designated in 2020, Kalshi grew explosively after election markets were allowed in late 2024 and sports contracts in 2025. By 2026 sports parlays were the bulk of its volume. It has sued several states that tried to block its sports contracts and is a party to the case headed for the Supreme Court.
Fees follow a formula that peaks at 50 cents; markets settle in dollars; the app is geofenced by state where courts require it.
